Professor Hazeltine,

Happy 75th birthday

From the very moment that I told friends and family I might be interested in going to Brown, I was told of your classes. My sources were wide ranging, from my father and uncles who had you in the 1960s and 1970s to my cousins and friends who were in class in the 1980s and 1990s. I'm quite certain that you are the only person to have taught Gilbane family members across five decades! Despite the incredible build up from all these sources, there was never a moment in your class that I was disappointed.

I often use the knowledge that I gained in your classes in my every day life and during my first semester at Harvard Business School. There were many times that I found myself recollecting the teachings from your class and applying them to my latest case study.

To this day when encountering fellow Brown alumni, your name invariably comes up and is a common bond for us to discuss. I wish you all the best in your next 75 years of teaching.
