Dear Professor Hazeltine,

Happy Birthday!

I can't imagine a life more satisfying than one that affects hundreds, if not thousands, of young students' lives. To this day, I remember your classes vividly and have always managed to have a sense of humor injected into all of my endeavors.

I'm now married to David Gould, an HBS graduate, and together we are building a lifestyle brand called 2B. It is all about "people coming first" and we plan to generate profits in order to give back to the community. He will run the companies under that brand, and I'll be managing the foundation. Since I've graduated, I've worked in the art industry as an art consultant, started a consumer product business, and then quit it all to join Howard Dean's presidential campaign in 2003. After that, I resolved to use business as a tool to build communities. My husband and I came up with 2B. We'll keep you posted!

You were instrumental to giving me this learning and aspiration to do great things. The greatest thing that has ever happened to me, however, was giving birth to a baby girl on July 20, 2005. Her name is Summer Cuppari Gould. I could only hope to send her to a school like Brown and have her learn from a teacher like you! Thank you for everything!
