You have been a big part of our family and our company for as long as we can remember. I think every Choquette/Gilbane undergraduate has taken your course and benefited greatly from the real world touch you brought to an engineering course.

You have referred some of your best kids to us and they have worked out to be terrific colleagues. I think from the guest-speaking many of our people have done in your class, you had an appreciation for our culture and who would best fit in.

And maybe more than anything was the friendship we developed through sharing a love of Brown athletics. I have seen you every Brown game, rain or shine, with your wife just as enthusiastic as you were. And today we are undisputed Ivy champs in the most important (in my view) sport of all—football.

So this is by way of saying Happy Birthday and acknowledging you as one of those special Professors that make Brown the unique place it is. Hope to see you soon.
