Dear Barrett,

Congratulations and Happy Birthday!

From our earliest meeting some 30 years ago to our most recent within the last couple of months, your sincere interest in people, business and combining the two into something "fun" has been a constant. Your reach into the community is extensive and the allegiance of your students is unparalleled.

I am proud to say that you are at the top of my networking pyramid. No other individual has done as much to help me meet other professionals and no one comes close in the rate of response from those you have suggested I contact. The refrain is consistent, "If Barrett told you to contact me, I am happy to help." Among your many accomplishments, your contributions to networking the entrepreneurial community should be a source of great pride and satisfaction.

I attended the event when you were honored by the Brown Club of RI at the Dunes Club. At the time, we had not seen each other in 25 years. I introduced myself—silly me—and you assured me that you remembered me. This talent of yours is well documented and revered but its universality makes it no less important to each of us.

Thank you for all that you have done for Brown, your students and alumni. Wishing you many more years of doing what you do best—helping us grow individually and collectively.
