Dear Dean Hazeltine,

It has been my pleasure to get to know you again in recent years through the Entrepreneurship Program.

I have born witness to several generations of Brunonians who have been nurtured and inspired by your counsel and your teaching. You serve, for me, as the ever-present reminder of how one person can affect the lives of so many. Henry Adams once said, "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence will stop."

Infinity is something I ponder often, perhaps it is the Physics concentrator in me. I can create no clearer picture in my mind of infinity than when I ponder the impact you, Barrett Hazeltine, have had. When I think of the lives you have touched in just the class of 1985 alone, and of the lives we '85 graduates have touched as a result of things we have learned from you or things we have learned about ourselves because of you, the numbers are staggering. And they keep on growin'. And, that's but one Brown class. The chain of causality is ever long and it spreads in every direction.

I think about this when I mentor other entrepreneurs that include Brown students and alumni. It is part of what inspires me in my own small role as "teacher." You will always be the "model." Thank you!
