Happy Birthday, Barrett!

You have been an inspiration to all of us. I had the honor to lecture your class for more than 20 years—from EN 9 to Social Entrepreneurship this year. I am proud and grateful to have been a small part of your important work at Brown.

For me, walking through the campus with you was an experience. The students' respect, admiration and love for you were clear. Through it all, you always made me feel welcome.

As a government official, I was privileged to lecture in many colleges in the U.S. and many other countries. There have been lots of brilliant instructors/professors but never a 'Barrett Hazeltine'—a real star. Your warmth and care for the students was special. Brown University has been fortunate indeed to have you.

I join your many friends and students in thanking you and wishing you all the best for the future.

Your good friend,

Jim Harmon
