Dear Dean Hazeltine,

Happy 75th Birthday!

I wanted to thank you for all you have done for me, as well as countless other Brown alumni over the years. It's rare to meet someone from Brown who has not taken one of your classes or gotten to know you through the Brown experience. I can't thank you enough for all of your guidance with my school and career decisions. Your accessibility to students is unmatched, and I have found this does not end upon graduation. I feel very fortunate to have continued our friendship beyond my time at Brown.

Although your classes were always among the largest offered, you had an amazing ability to engage each student. You showed sincere interest in your students, not only in our academics, but also outside of the classroom. You had a significant influence on my Brown experience—from serving as a TA, to working on an independent study project with you, to simply taking a guest speaker to lunch or the airport. You have had a strong impact on my life, and I wanted to thank you for everything you have done.

Best regards,

Dan Grace
