Dear Dean Hazeltine,

I want to congratulate you on your 75th birthday and at the same time wish you many more happy and healthy ones. It does not seem that long ago that Curt Bennett and I house-sat while you were on sabbatical. I probably should be questioning your judgment allowing the two of us to keep an eye on your personal possessions. Actually we were very respectful because of the trust you had in us.

I also think about all the wonderful Brown students you have helped our company recruit. Today we have many of your students excelling in the leadership of our company. We owe you a great deal of thanks.

Finally, I want to congratulate you on the overall impact you have had at the University. I know every professor would like to affect the lives of their students the way you have. There are many graduates who live better lives because of your influence.

Your friend,

William J. Gilbane, Jr.
