Dear Dean Hazeltine,

Twenty-five years after I first walked through the Van Wickle Gates, memories have begun to fade, but a few never will. The people who make a true impact on your life are the ones you will never forget.

Among the remarkable number of new ideas (new to me anyway), people, and issues I encountered every day at Brown, there were a few anchors that always brought me down to earth, reminded me of values I brought with me and those I ascribed to. The most memorable and loved of those anchors of my Brown education was you, Professor Hazeltine.

I wish you many returns of the joy and love you gave to so many Brown students. Happy Birthday!
